Wreath Sales Fundraiser
It is that time of year again (already?), time for the annual Scout Wreath sales fundraiser! We are selling the same items as last year from the same nursery (Nelson Nursery in Zimmerman, MN) for nearly the same prices! Most items are only $1 more, the largest wreath jumped up $5.
We are using the Nelson Nursery fundraiser website again this year, so your customers can use the link below and place an order at their convenience using any major credit card or Google Pay. Be sure to remind any buyers to select your name when purchasing from this site so you get credit for the sale! If your parents approve, you can take payment by cash or check, like the good ole days, but your customer will need to write the check to your parents and you can enter the order for them.
Get out there early and share this sale with all your friends, family and neighbors!

October Campout - Voyager Bay + Cuyuna MTB
Campout Details:
The Campout at Voyager Bay will be October 9-11, 2026 . Planning night is October 5 during the Troop meeting.
Scouts and chaperones are expected to sleep in tents for this event. Please check the weather and be prepared with appropriate gear.
During the weekend scouts will have an opportunity for mountain and/or paved trail biking in Cuyuna!
All camp attendees need to have on file parts A & B of Scout Annual Health and Medical Record.
Scouts:

Submit $40 when registering
Fill out this Voyager Bay Permission Form
Meet with your patrol during the troop meeting 10/5 for meal planning
Meet at Shepherd of the Hills Church (500 Blake Road South) at 5:30pm on Friday for final counts and picking up patrol boxes. Remember to wear Class A uniforms to and from the campout and eat before gathering at the church (or bring bag dinner to eat in the car)!
If you still need Camping Merit Badge Requirement 4b "Help a scout patrol or a Webelos Scout unit in your area prepare for an actual campout, including creating the duty roster, menu planning, equipment needs, general planning, and setting up camp" please consider fulfilling that requirement at this campout.
We need at least 2 Female and 2 Male Chaperones for this campout. Parents please sign up to Chaperone!!!
Adults:
RSVP in TroopTrack by Monday 10/5 if you are able to chaperone (No fee to attend!). Please RSVP under your own name and not as a guest of your scout.
In your scout's Voyager Bay Permission Form please indicate your availability to chaperone and if you are able to assist with driving to/from the campout. Please make sure to indicate if you can bring a bike rack, and if so how many bikes it can carry.
Meet during the troop meeting on 10/5 to confirm transportation and chaperones. Meal planning for adults will also occur at this meeting.

Eagle Project - Dylan Nordin
Help Dylan complete his Eagle Project! The project will take place this Saturday (October 3rd) from 9am-3pm. The project is benefitting The Bond Between’s Pet Food Shelf, where we will be doing a landscaping project. We will trim bushes and lay rock so bring work clothes, gloves, and a water bottle. The address is 2501 Minnehaha Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55404. If you can come, PLEASE make sure to RSVP from the Troop Track event (here)!
Donuts, snacks, and drinks will be provided to all volunteers.
Hike Club - Wild River State Park
Join the Hike Club on Oct 3 for a trip to Wild River State Park for a 12 mile hike. Wild River State Park offers an extensive trail system winding through forest and oak savannah. Lacking in steep terrain, the tail should be a gentle course for a 12 mile hike. We will stop for lunch and scouts will be able to cook a meal if they bring a stove. Click here for details

National Cemetery Flag Removal
You are invited to volunteer at the 2024 Ft. Snelling National Cemetery Flag Clean Up event being held on Saturday, June 1, 2024, from 3-5 pm. If you have already signed up, thank you! if not, the registration is live on this link to register your unit
Shady Oak Pond Volounteering
Please join the Hopkins community for their upcoming volunteer event focused on garlic mustard removal in Hopkins, Minnesota. We will begin in Shady Oak Pond (the location of our Buckthorn removal in the fall), and add additional locations depending on volunteer turn-out.
What to Expect:
Training: We will provide a brief training session on how to effectively identify and remove garlic mustard.
Tools: We will have all the necessary tools and equipment for the removal process. Please bring gardening / work gloves if you would like.

What to Bring:

May 2024 Campout @ Voyager Bay
Voyager Bay Scout Camp is 80 acres of forested land with waterfront on Lake Washburn near Outing, MN. This property belongs to our Chartering Organization, Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church. It is our typical camping destination from April - October. At Voyager Bay we have our own spot in the north woods of Minnesota. The October campout at Voyager Bay will be October 6-8.
Summer Camp Health Forms Due
NEW THIS YEAR - NO FORMS ARE DUE UNTIL MAY! An email with PDFs of all the registration forms will be sent out soon; those forms should be submitted all at once with final payment (get those physicals or forms completed now!).

The total registration fee for Voyager Bay Scout Camp 2024 is $545.00. A $50.00 deposit will be charged upon RSVP for all Scouts and Venture Crew members; the remainder is due May 15, 2024.
